I like your honest posting – it’s sometimes difficult for us to reflect on our past, particularly if it isn’t as brilliant as we would like.
But I subscribe to the “Law of Attraction” way of thinking, and a fundamental aspect of that thinking is that you are a product of your life experiences, and your life experiences are largely brought about by your own thoughts and emotions. So in a way, you are responsible for being that unhappy child and teenager you wrote about – but of course at that age, it’s difficult to comprehend that.
So by believing in this, you realize that self-confidence is an integral element in the successful application of the law of attraction.
Louise, you mention in your article – being grateful for your academic performance, which came as a result of being a social recluse. So even though when you look back on your childhood and don’t see ‘happiness’, be grateful for the love your received from your family and the ‘direction’ you took even in those trying times.
